La Campagne Tropicana Beach Resort is the world’s first African-themed beach resort popular among tourists. This resort is a spectacular epitome of natural splendor and man-made beauty that is perfect for fun seekers and tourists who want to escape the metropolitan area of Lagos.
GCTOURS had a swell time sometime in Feburary during the love season, we took our tourists to Omu Resort somewhere in Ibeju Lekki, immediately after the tour to Omu Resort, we started making preparations for the Easter Fun Tour, so we were on the lookout for a place much more better than Omu Resort. A place that can give our tourists a different experience entirely from what we had the last time at Omu Resort, so we got to know about La Campagne Tropicana Beach Resort, Immediately we started making enquiry, visited their website we saw a pop up notice on their website that says they do not allow digital camera, we contacted the management they asked us to send a mail using our company’s letter head which we did and our request was later granted.
Upon arrival at the resort, you would be greeted with a Yoruba word on a wooden gate saying Ekaabo, meaning “welcome”. This was the first hint of culture at the resort and we immediately fell in love. After parking our bus at the car park we were directed to the reception where we were given our tickets and also registered our digital camera becuase the resort doesn’t allow digital camera after the registration we gained access to the resort facilities.
Upon entering the wooden gate, we were checked in by the security men after which we got a special “free” ride in a white neat coaster bus from the gate to the beach area. This was first class treatment that we did not pay for and that was absolutely impressive.
There was no tour guide to take us round so we ask some of the security men there and they directed us to a tent close to the beach. Immediately we got to the tent, we felt the breeze from the ocean. At this point some of our tourists started taking pictures and videos with their mobile devices that was the first impression we got that they love the place.
We sat down for a while after which we took a walk round the resort from the atlantic ocean, sandy beach, fresh water lake to the mangrove forest, we also went to the waterside area where we were given access to do swimming, kayaking and other waterside activities.
This resort is arguably one of the best in Nigeria because it’s richness in culture, the beautiful and well maintained facility, and the top notch service you get from the staffs at the resort.
First thing to note is that all the infrastructures at the resort is beautiful and consciously designed with cultural artifact, which promotes the Yoruba Culture. The fun there was inexhaustible and our tourist were glad we made the right decision.
